Foundation
Founded by the American College of Construction Lawyers on March 12, 2021, the American College of Construction Lawyers Foundation, Inc. is a Delaware charitable corporation governed by officers and directors who are members of the College. The Foundation’s purpose is to support educational and teaching opportunities in construction law and construction dispute resolution. The Foundation has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service for federal tax-exempt status under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the Foundation are considered tax-deductible.
Donations & Grants
Among the opportunities the Foundation supports are the Holt Gwyn Writing Award and grants for education programs consistent with the Foundation’s purposes. Details for these two initiatives are located on this website.

Grant for Education
The Foundation’s purpose is to support educational and teaching opportunities in construction law and construction dispute resolution. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Annual Holt Gwyn Writing Award
The Holt Gwyn Writing Award is an annual award given to the author(s) of an article relevant to construction industry law. The Award is made in honor of the late A. Holt Gwyn, who was President of the American College of Construction Lawyers from February 2016 – February 2017. The Award is intended to honor thoughtful scholarship and excellent writing in the area of construction law or related topics.
The Writing Competition is open to lawyers admitted to practice less than fifteen years and to non-tenured faculty of U.S. law schools.
